The fourth and last seminar of the School for Political Studies 2021 was held on December 3-4. The seminar was focused on the functioning of political parties and political communication.
On the first day we discussed with Adem Beha, professor at the University of Prishtina about political parties as agents of democratization in society, the dimensions of democracy, ideologies and public opinion.
The day continued with Albert Krasniqi, Director of Democracy Plus Programs, with whom we discussed electoral reform, more specifically what a more democratic electoral system would look like by analyzing practical examples from illustrations of paintings and artifacts from the past to sophisticated modern methods in electoral systems.
Further, the practical challenges in organizing elections in Kosovo from the perspective of civil society and the findings from the election monitoring processes were discussed.
On the second day we discussed political communication during election campaigns as tools of influence, with Neritan Sejamini.
At the end of the seminar, the closing ceremony and awarding of certificates for the nineteenth generation of the Political School was held.
