Kosovo’s efforts for consolidation towards a socially cohesive society

April 2025

Politička škola (23. generacija) zvanično je započela svoj program prvim seminarom ovog vikenda! Od 11. do 13. aprila, nova generacija Političke škole započela je svoj jednogodišnji put sa puno entuzijazma i posvećenosti učenju i doprinosu društvu.

Seminar je počeo predstavljanjem programa Političke škole, gde smo imali zadovoljstvo da ugostimo gospođu Mary Ann Hennesey iz Kancelarije Saveta Evrope na Kosovu i gospodina Granita J. Tërnavu iz Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Kosovo (KAS)—ključne partnere i podršku ovog programa. Pod moderacijom gospodina Ramadana Ilazija, učesnici su bili uključeni u timski rad i diskusije o temi države, mira i sukoba, istražujući duboke koncepte kroz dinamične razgovore.

The School of Politics (Generation 23) officially began its program with the first seminar this weekend! From April 11-13, the new generation of the School of Politics started their one-year journey with great enthusiasm and commitment to learning and contributing to society.

The seminar began with an introduction to the Political School program, where we had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Mary Ann Hennesey from the Council of Europe Office in Kosovo and Mr. Granit J. Tërnava from Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Kosovo (KAS)—key partners and supporters of this program. Moderated by Mr. Ramadan Ilazi, participants engaged in teamwork and discussions on the topic of State, Peace, and Conflict, exploring profound concepts through dynamic dialogues. During the afternoon, Ms. Marta Gazideda shared her insights on social cohesion, analyzing its importance, current state, and role in divided societies—a discussion that inspired participants’ reflection and constructive conversations. The last part of the day concluded with a lecture by Mr. Dukagjin Gorani on 'Obstacles to social cohesion in Kosovo and necessary changes for building a more unified society.'

Saturday began with a historical analysis of Kosovo's journey towards statehood through a detailed lecture by Mr. Robert Muharremi. The discussion opened new perspectives on historical challenges and progress achieved. The afternoon continued with a lecture by Mr. Enver Hasani, focusing on the Constitution, human rights, and minority rights. The discussion about democracy, rule of law, and inclusion offered important insights into Kosovo’s political system. The second day concluded with a lecture by Mr. Betim H. Zllanoga and Mr. Senad Sabović on the topic: "Kosovo's Constitutional Promise," where they discussed the safeguarding of human and minority rights and the reality of their implementation in Kosovo.

On the third and final day, participants had the opportunity to work in groups and discuss challenges and possible pathways for building an inclusive Kosovo. Moderated again by Mr. Ramadan Ilazi, participants expressed their opinions in various forms regarding where we stand as a society and how we can move forward. The participants' energy and dedication were evident throughout the seminar, marked by numerous discussions, a positive atmosphere, and valuable networking opportunities.

Thanks to all speakers, moderators, and participants for their contribution to the success of this seminar! Special thanks to the Council of Europe for supporting the program, as well as Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Kosovo (KAS) for supporting this seminar.
