Study visit with MPs on sustainable urban mobility in Lubljana

As part of PIPS engagement in support of sustainable urban mobility, in one of the leading countries in sustainable urban mobility a study visit for Members of Parliaments of Southeast Europe was held from 13-14 May. Kosovar MPs Liburn Aliu and Mimoza Kusari took part in this visit in Ljubljana, Slovenia organized by GIZ Open Regional Fund for South-East Europe - Energy Efficiency.

The second seminar of the School for Political Studies 2019 was held from 12 to 14 April. This seminar, entitled "State as the fundamental framework to govern - The politics of public policy" offered our participants the chance to discuss about the role of ideology, right and left politics for Kosovo, economic development, sound education, and rule of law in the context of shaping public policy in Kosovo.

On 2nd of April Prishtina Institute for Political Studies published the annual survey “International Politics and Political Parties: Perceptions of Kosovo citizens”. The survey was published through the support of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS). The panel of the event consisted of Leonora Kryeziu (PIPS Executive Director), Granit Tërnava (KAS), Arben Hajrullahu (University of Prishtina) and Butrint Berisha (PIPS).

On 21 March 2019, the Pristina School for Political Studies held a discussion with the Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy in Prishtina, Mrs. Colleen Hyland. Participants had a fruitful discussion during which they shared their thoughts on the current main challenges of Kosovo in the local and international context.

OPEN CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOOL FOR POLITICAL STUDIES 2021

Prishtina School for Political Studies has opened the call for application for the admission of candidates for the nineteenth generation (19).

School for Political Studies is one of the first non-formal political education programs in Kosovo and the oldest program that is still active. School for Political Studies has been implemented by the Prishtina Institute for Political Studies since 2003 through the support of the Council of Europe.

The aim of the program is to promote a new political culture for young leaders in line with the three key principles of the Council of Europe: democracy, rule of law and human rights. Throughout a year 30 participants coming from political parties, media, civil society, public administration etc. have the opportunity to attend modules with lectures from eminent local and international speakers. The program is currently implemented in 22 different countries around the world and graduates are certified by the Council of Europe and the Secretary General of this organization.

The roundtable ‘Prospects of Kosovo membership to Council of Europe’ was held today. The goal of this roundtable was discussing the Kosovo membership to Council of Europe. Present in the roundtable were: Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga, ex Foreign Affairs Minister Enver Hoxhaj, Human Rights Expert Gjylieta Mushkolaj and Fisnik Korenica Expert of law.

Our panelists were Dhurata Hoxha - Minister of European Integration, Nataliya Apostolova - Head of EU Office in Kosovo and Gerrie Willems - Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Kosovo.
